Ok ladies I need your help! This year I am turning the big 3-0...and I am actually excited! I have never been more confident in my life and feel like I am truly comfortable in my own skin. The only thing I wish a little different for me is my wardrobe.
I don't know if I am stuck in a niche of going to the same stores or maybe just afraid to step out and try something new. I mean for like years on end when we would go out to eat I would order the same thing! So I'm thinking it maybe the scared part. I also feel that maybe I could shop a little less in the juniors department (after a wakeup call of the selection they had at Kohls) but I am struggling to find a place that is inbetween juniors and old lady section (*gasp)! I feel like all I wear is jeans and a matching top but I am not good with accessories or making myself not look so plain!
So this is where I need your help. Where do you shop? I am looking for new places to go. I don't mind online shopping if it has good sales. I am also not looking to spend 50 bucks on a shirt either.
So let the ideas flow ladies...please!!!
Oh and the giveaway...as long as you comment below with some clothing advice you will be entered to win a $25 gift card to the store of your choice (randomly drawn) so that way you can go buy a cute top for yourself!
You should go back through my friend Mandy's "Steppin' Out Saturday" posts. (www.harpershappenings.com) She stopped doing SOS a couple months ago, but you can find the link ups and there are literally hundreds and hundreds of other blogs that linked up at one week or another that will probably give you a pretty good idea.
ReplyDeleteAs for me I find I do really well with a fall/winter wardrobe. I adore cardigans and cute chunky sweaters. With a fitted cami underneath, skinny jeans and some boots...I feel like I can never go wrong.
During the summer I am such a bore, I wear pretty much nothing but tank tops and jeans. But it's always because I've never lived anywhere it wasn't blazing hot all summer. Who has time for anything else??? I did find some super cute dresses at ON last year, but honestly they are really short and I hardly got to wear them. lol
Alena,
DeleteI def need to go check out that site...I know where you are coming from. I think I do better in the fall/winter too. I think I just feel like maybe it is time to step away from the juniors dept especially since in like 4 or 5 years Taylor will be shopping there herself! Awkward!
I've gotten some cute stuff at http://www.maurices.com/home/index.jsp
ReplyDeleteI think accessories can really help spice up an outfit.
Thanks I will totally check Maurices and see what they have for me!
DeleteHave you checked out 6pm or Amazon? They both have a great selection & you can find really great deals. If you're looking for a brick and mortar store I really like TJ Maxx & Marshall's. They are always changing what they have and they have really great deals, too. Also, I'm not really a fashionista or anything but bright colors & prints can really spice up an outfit. Or maybe add a little glitz with sequins or metallics.
ReplyDeleteDeanna,
DeleteI didn't even know Amazon sold clothes! I need to get on there more and check it out. I haven't ever heard of 6pm but I am going to look through there as well. Thanks for the advice and yes I LOVE Marshalls and TJ Maxx too!
Kohl's was a wake-up call for me too! I personally LOVE Target! I spent $220 there a couple of weeks ago and walked out with a ton of new trendy "mom" clothes. Three bras, jeans, three cardigans, a dress, and four or five tops. Even their clearance section has relatively nice pieces.
ReplyDeleteI have found myself shopping more there too! And it seems that the women's section there isn't so "old ladyish"...lol
DeleteI love new york and company. I also love newport news online. But mostly I pair old tops with leggings and a blazer to look sheik and chic! ( yes.4eva.r@gmail.com)
ReplyDeleteI'll have to check that store out in person! Went online and I liked what I saw. My only downfall is that I have the hardest time finding something that fits when it comes to online shopping unless I have been in the actual store before! Thanks!!'
