It's that dreaded time of year again...deployment time. Ugh. My heart has been heavy all day and quite frankly haven't had much of an appetite. Every other time Justin has deployed it has been relatively earlier in the day but not this deployment. They left in the evening, which is good because we had longer to see him today but it also made the day seem to drag on because we knew the inevitable was going to happen.
I definitely am not a wife that complains about deployments...we both signed up for the military so we knew what we were getting into when we did. And when I say we both that is also because I am active duty. We are one of the rare dual military families it seems. Not only do we have to deal with him deploying but there also comes a time (albeit very rare) when I have to deploy. Either way it isn't fun!
And while this sucks completely to be separated I thank god that Justin's job keeps him behind the wire and at a relatively safe base so that keeps my nerves down a lot! Regardless it isn't a goodbye but rather a see you soon! So to all those other military wives out there I know what you are going through (4x now..eeehh!).
The girls love their daddy!
So until he comes back us girls are going to be running the show!
It must be so hard saying goodbye to your man and even more so for your adorable children. Since you're Air Force I'm sure you understand better than anyone how it is to have to deploy. I applaud you and all those who serve in the military for your service to our country. We literally would not be free if it weren't for you brave men and women :)
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by the Aloha Friday Blog hop!! I followed you on google +, google followers connect, twitter and pinterest and look forward to reading all you have to write!!
I find Military Wives and Moms nothing short of amazing. I don't know how you do it, but you obviously do it well! I found you on the Aloha Blog Hop, would love a follow back at http://sassyshopperreviews.blogspot.com/ when you can! We have a couple of contests going on now if you would like to enter. :)
ReplyDeleteThanks for the sweet comments ladies! It is tough but I wouldn't change anything for the world...it makes it all worth it in the end!
ReplyDeleteThat's a bummer about the deployment but the fact he's out of harm's way is a good thing. Hope the time goes by smoothly. Thank you both for your service :)
ReplyDeleteThanks amanda...the first part of me adjusting everything while he is gone takes the longest and then once I get into the swing of things the rest just sails by
DeleteMy thoughts are with you and your family! We've only been through one deployment so far (my husband is TNARNG), but I can't imagine they get any easier. Dual military and raising little ones... that is AMAZING and I admire your strength! Thanks to your family for serving our country
ReplyDeleteJaclyn- It's funny you say that because Justin and I were talking before he left about how since this is his 4th deployment it should be a piece of cake now....um...joke's on me because it is so not any easier!
