So I have given myself a challenge with my blog and I am going to be doing the NaBloPoMo for the month of February! The topic for the month is relative so away I go!
With this first post I want to talk about someone near and dear to my heart and of course they are related to me-my grandparents.
My grandparents are like most older couples really sweet and when you look at them you wish that in 50 years you and your husband can be just like that. What I think is especially cute is that they call each other mom and dad. They have done that for as long as I can remember. When my mom and I moved back to Tucson my grandparents would pick me up from school to help my mom out who was a full time single working mom.
My favorite memory with my grandpa was every Friday he would pick me up and we would go down to the local thrift store because they had a small ice cream stand and we would get ice cream. Both of us would get our favorite- mint chocolate chip!
My grandma is one of the sweetest ladies ever and I am not just saying that because I am biased! She would do anything for anyone and always has a warm smile on her face. I think growing up around such love is good for the soul!
My favorite memory with my grandma was actually when I was younger before I started school. She would watch me while my mom worked and every day when it was nap time (I was probably around 4 or 5) she would lay down with me and rub my back and sing to me.
I could probably go on all day long about how important my grandparents are to me and how much I appreciate them being in my life growing up but I won't draw out the post that long!
I do have to give them a shout out though. This month they are celebrating 64 years of marriage! 64!! That is crazy and I can only be so lucky to be married to my husband for that long!
My grandpa used to take me out for ice cream, too. :) And your grandma sounds so sweet... just like a grandma should be!
